North-West London has the most sought after residential addresses, with cultural landmarks and impressive parks, it is the epitome of cosmopolitan village living.
Over the decade of 2010 to 2019 a total of 56,809 houses were sold according to Land Registry data.
This article aims to identify some of the key trends that occur in house prices in the NW region both in terms of house price brackets, but also how transient each post code area is - in other words, which post code areas had the highest number of house sales.

The decade started off with 4395 house sales in 2010. House sales in 2019 dropped slightly to 4166, however the average sold price was 800k+.
The busiest year was 2015 with 6425 sales in total, closely followed by 2016 at 6188 sales.
At the beginning of the decade and the lower end of the market the cheapest property went for less than £100k, with 22 properties under £150k sold during 2010. Fast forward to the end of the decade and the number of houses sold at that price was less than 5.
Looking at the more expensive properties, and just 63 properties sold for 800k-1 Million in 2010, the most expensive fell in the 800k-£1 million price bracket. By 2019 this had changed significantly, with 453 houses sold for £1M+. However, the first quarter of 2016 was the most lucrative, with 3 sales in the 10-20 million bracket and 2 in the over 20M bracket .

In terms of transiency, the volume of house sales in a particular postcode district, the NW6 district representing was consistently the area with the highest number of house sales representing nearly a quarter of all houses sales in the NW postcode area at 8273 sales for the decade. This can be expected with significant numbers of new build properties becoming available over the last 10 years.
